this film is INCREDIBLE!! its like marmite. you either absolutely love it. or you despise it. forunately, i love it. the film is based around a loser named napoleon and his really boring yet incredibly funny adnentures. this film is easily up there with anchorman and airplane in my oipinion and can make me laugh over and over again. the way in which there really isnt much to this film yet the way it can have me and my friends in stitches is sheer brilliance. the film generally has no plot, story line or simple basis and in almost all points is completely random. but this is what makes it what it is. its simplicity and light hearted nature makes it a charm to watch over ...  Read the complete review

This is the story of a teenager called Napoleon Dynamite. He's socially awkward and probably a bit autistic and to be honest that's the film more or less in a nutshell. The film takes place over a short period of Napoleon's life while at school where everybody is socially awkward. There are some shots of a Jock as he gurns away which makes him just as geeky as Napoleon. Even the beautiful girls in the school show moments of insecurity and clumsiness. note: also appears in part on Flixster and The Student Room I am a big fan of independent cinema; so often the films from that tenet represent interests and ideas that are too edgy and clever for mainstream audiences, but also sometimes they're on the fringe of the box office because they're too quirky and self-consciously, indulgently strange. I had seen the trailers for this film and was thinking of going to see it in the cinema but never had the time. I was in my nearest Xtra Vision browsing to hire a dvd out for the night and came across this film. I wasnt expecting to like it as it looked a bit strange but thought i would give it a go anyway. If you're looking for a film with a great storyline, punch lines for the whole family to understand with outrageous one liners, then look elsewhere. Napoleon dynamite is a film like no other, it's pure MARMITE. I love the film, it had me in absolute stitches with Pedro's hair, Mexican gangsters, 'your mom goes to college', the portrait, vote for Pedro (hell I even bought the t-shirt). It's comedy gold in my opinion but my other half, absolutely hates it!
