Stop wasting time, rent the film (Never Been Kissed (DVD))

Advantages: Easy storyline, great gags and covers all emotions

Disadvantages: Not a brand new idea

Sat down to watch this one under pressure from the "other arve". Another one of the girlie films I think to myself, but Drew Barrymore is in it so lets just keep the peace.

Within two minutes I was hooked and the film played my emotions all the way through. The ending is an edge of the seat lump in the throat experience and despite watching the film several times since I went out and bought it (for her of course), it still has the same effect.

Drew plays an ordinary "Plain Jane" character with a heart of gold and dreams of a perfect life, who is trying to make the best of things. The humour cracks me up every time, from her so called fashionable outfits, to the slap stick episodes of falling over. Her nick name at School was "Josie Grossie" and to get on in her job she must go back and mix with the "In crowd". The harder she tries the worse it gets and there is a part of most people that can associate with the way she feels and the dilemma's she's in.

Her description of the perfect kiss will have all the women nudging their fellas saying "See that's what its all about, so put that tongue away"

The Newspaper office staff are great turning the film into a daily soap, with them adding to the anticipation and drama throughout.

Given the chance (Suppose that's what I am doing now) I would tell people to rent this and watch with pleasure. But keep the Kleenex ready for the ending.

There are a couple of scenes in the film that are expected but these do not detract from the overall storyline which is simple and laid out plainly for people to understand.

Now you have finished reading this, get down the video shop and rent "Never Been Kissed".
