The Nick of Time produced by John Badham ( Bird on a Wire, Saturday Night Fever) is the third take on one of Hitchcock's best thrillers, The Man Who New Too Much which was first released in 1934. Badham's film was released in 1995 and has a slight twist in the story. It all starts on a normal afternoon for accountant Gene Watson (Johnny Depp) as time ticks by without incident. Arriving at Union Station in downtown Los Angeles for an appointment, Gene and ... Read the complete review

The film is shot in real-time more or less and it's on the edge stuff, every time Watson tries to get out of killing ... Read the complete review

note: also appears in part on Flixster and The Student Room Johnny Depp may best be known for his roles such as Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean, but he's also had a few great, lesser known roles, chiefly in Nick of Time, an innovative film that's set in real time whilst involving a man embroilled in a political intrigue plot. It very much seems to have inspired the brilliant TV show 24, and although it's very much shot like a TV-film, it's actually rather fun. The film revolves around Gene Watson (Depp), a nice but perhaps too polite banker whose wife recently died. Thus, he is left to take care of his daughter, Lynn, by himself. Meanwhile, ...
