Advantages: Great cast

Disadvantages: Not as good as the first film

Ocean's Twelve is the sequel to the 2001 smash hit Ocean's Eleven. It again stars George Clooney as Danny Ocean, who again has to bring his original team back together again when Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia) finds them all and demands his money back. The team now have the job of returning all of Benedict's money or face going to jail. But they may have a way out, in the shape of premier thief Francois Toulour, who will pay the entire amount if they can prove they are the best thieves in the world.

I love Ocean's Eleven, it's one of my favourite films, and I was disappointed when this failed to live up to my expectations. Perhaps I shouldn't have expected as much, sequels very rarely match the first films in terms of quality. I am glad they got the entire cast back together, using someone else wouldn't have worked as well, as the eleven have such a good chemistry together, thankfully that is something that hasn't changed from the first one. They all play off each wonderfully, I guess it helps if you're friends in real life. Julia Roberts plays a much bigger role in this film, in fact she could be considered the extra player to make it Ocean's "Twelve".

The script is not as good this time around, some of the jokes fell flat and it doesn't seem to have a lot of the fun, style and cool that the first film had. A lot of that is to do with the location, Las Vegas is retro cool, glitzy and glamorous and reminds you of the swinging 60's and reminds you of stars like Sinatra and Elvis. With this film they've gone more for a continental chic, so you get a lot of shots of beautiful architecture, and music from artists like Beethoven and Piero Umiliani, which give the film a more European feel.

The twist at the end is good, but you can kinda see it coming. The actual heist is well planned like the first one, but seems a bit more confusing, in that you'll probably turn to your friend and ask them how they did it.

Overall not a bad film, but doesn't get close to the dizzy heights Ocean's Eleven reached.

Summary: You cross one ocean, you face them all
