Odin (DVD)

Odin seems to have become almost legendary amongst UK anime fans, unfortunately for all the wrong reasons. It has to be one of the dullest pieces of anime I've ever seen it really has nothing to recommend it. It doesn't even fall into that "So bad it's good" category. The basic plot follows a young crew on their voyage into space where they basically fight a few things and achieve almost nothing. The UK release has been heavily cut for some unknown reason, but if anything it's a relief as there's less to endure. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaawn... This is, without a doubt, one of the dullest movies I have ever watched. It's so boring, in fact, that I had to watch it in three installments. There's just no way I could get through all of it in one sitting. Being a science fiction fan, I was hoping this would hold my interest. The space ship design harkens back to 18th century sailing ships, and seeing these ancient ships floating in outer space was kind of neat.
