I'd been quite busy recently and hadn't had time to go into the cinema, my usual favourite past-time. However, when I saw the trailer for One Missed Call, I decided I could not miss the opportunity to see it and made the time to go and see! I hadn't seen a horror at the cinema since 2006, when the Omen was remade. That, too, was a fifteen, and I was much younger then. I hadn't expected One Missed Call to be anything utterly horrifying; however I did hope there would be some thrills and chills. Plot ----------------- Ever since the fire at St. Luke's Hospital broke out, a chain of mysterious phone calls began. The phone rings, sounding ... Read the complete review

Ah the pain of having to endure yet another Japanese horror movie, remade by Americans for a global audience. Sadly American movie producers have not quite cottoned on that so many of these Japanese horror movies are pretty much the same. Now we have One Missed Call, a movie that not only bears a canny resemblance to The Ring, but also more home-grown American fare Final Destination. Young (not so young) Beth Raymond (Shannyn Sossamon) grows increasing troubled when a series of her friends receive strange phone calls apparently from themselves. A few days after the said phone call the friends end up down the local morgue. In enters Jack Andrews played by the ... Read the complete review

One Missed Call is an American remake of a Japanese film, with the same premise. The film was released in 2008 and was directed by Eric Valette and written by Andrew Klavan and stars Edward Burns and Shannyn Sossamon. Hollywood as in recent times had a strange habit of copying horror films that have come from Japan and China, notably the Ring and The grudge, which were great box office successes, both domestically and internationally. I didn't actually watch this film, until last month when I rented it on DVD. The Plot is simple and pretty much comes from the title, one missed call. The film is about Beth Raymond played by Shannyn Sossamon, a university ... Read the complete review

I've just finished watching this, and have enjoyed it so much I have just bought it on Amazon for the bargain price of £5, and that has postage included. The film was released in the Cinema in September 2008 and has just been on Sky Movies Premier all last week at 11pm. Will be getting shown on Sky Movies Horror and Sci Fci for a while now as well. This is a remake of the Japanese Film and is kinda in the same vein as The Ring and The Grudge, but snce I like those films as well I was keen to watch this. It is a Horror and rated 15. The film lasts 89 minutes. So what's the film about? We start by seeing a girl dying. Her phone rings, she picks it up ... Read the complete review

Note: written for my film review website, ShaunMunro.co.uk, thanks! ~~~ I commend One Missed Call for managing to survive an entire six minutes in my retina before I began to lose interest. Given the negative publicity, I expected worse (albeit not much worse), yet that is not to give much credit this film - it is, without doubt, complete schlock, and even as the first release of 2008, is a weighty contender for the worst film of the year (although Meet the Spartans may provide some deft competition). Of the few things that the film does right, it starts slaying the attractive teenagers and moving the hokey plot forward pretty quickly. ... Read the complete review
