Advantages: The cinematography is superb

Disadvantages: None!

This film had appealed to me since it came out at the cinema, but for one reason or another I failed to see it... that was until last weekend, when it was on Channel 4.

I have to say I didnt realise it was sub-titled, and when it started i was slightly aprehensive, but I am very glad i continued to watch it.

It is a very dark film, not only in content, but the way it is shot. Certain parts of the film are shown as bright (blood for instance!) and that really makes the scene intense.

Without giving too much away about the film, it did shock me in some places (the Captain in particular!), but it was a somewhat simple film that was brought to life by the Director, and also by the little girl, who was mesmarising.

Unfortunately I was at Alton Towers whilst watching the film and we had a fire alarm, so i didnt see the end, and so I purchased the film and wasnt dissapointed.

Summary: A young girl moves in with her mother's new husband, and gets caught up in a fairytale dream
