Advantages: a great slice of life

Disadvantages: Not many whatso ever

Paranoid park is a Drama that delves into the mind of a teen who tries to distance himself after an inccedent. The film starring a lot of unknowns is flawless in its depictation of teenagers and the script is full of great dialouge that you would hear and see on the streets today.

Alex is a young teen who's actions has caused an incident with a security gaurd. Alex tries to deal with whats happened through writing and we see on screen how he deals with the actions and how he tries to distance himself from the said event.

I dont want to spoil the film and want to leave the plot out but paranoid park is a sucess on screen. The youths of the film a realisticaly portrayed and its hard not to see some young person you know in the young people in the film. The film doesnt have many answers to the questions it poses but adds to the realistic atmosphere of the film.

There are elements of the film that distract from the story and that is to blame for director gus van saint who tries to put arty scenes when not needed. However the director can take credit for a near pitch perfect film about concequences to action. Casting unknowns makes the film more believable and as the audience able to connect with the characters on a deeper level

One to own and be proud off.
