On Monday morning, I'm flying to Canada with my family for a week's break and a mate's wedding. Why I decided to watch Passenger 57 the other night, then, I'll never know. Probably not the best film to watch if you're about to fly! The film focuses on John Cutter (Wesley Snipes), a former International Airport Security Manager, who is coerced into coming back into the business by Tom Sizemore, now a bigwig in the antiterrorism business. Cutter finds himself on a plane when the FBI decide a last minute transfer for plane hijacker Charles Rayne (Bruce Payne). When Payne's goons end up taking over the plane mid-air, it's left to Cutter to save the ... Read the complete review

The best action films still seem to be the older ones. The likes of Die Hard with Bruce Willis running around trying to save the day and keep his vest clean. It's true that the older ones are the best and over the weekend I decided to reacquaint myself with one such film. I'm a big fan of Wesley Snipes and as much as I like his more recent films like Blade there is on of his older ones I absolutely love. It's fair to say that Passenger 57 is one of my favourite films. So despite having loads of others to watch I found myself sitting in front of Passenger 57 again. Snipes stars as security expert John Cutter. He's a specialist trainer who has just taken on a ... Wesley Snipes earns his action hero status in this enjoyable action-packed movie. Airline security specialist John Cutter (Snipes) has finally met his match when his flight is seized by international mad man Charles Rayne (Pane). The story is simple and often predictable with a few loop holes. Passenger 57 stands out from other action movies due to the movie's two main characters. Wesley Snipes and Bruce Pane deliver some amazing performances. Some good fight sequences and Snipes' lightning-fast moves make Passenger 57 a worthy action movie to enjoy. ... I enjoy watching any film that Wesley Snipes is in, and this is no exception. I have seen this film about 6 or 7 times, about once a year as i still enjoy watching it. It is about a plane being hi-jacked by terrorists who of course want money for their troubles and of course the hero saves the day in the form of wesley snipes who is sitting in seat 57, hence the title passenger 57. This film would be enjoyable to watch for anyone that enjoys watching action movies as this is a high class action movie. A must for your video/DVD collection. ... Read the complete review

This is Wesley Snipes at his corniest, believe me. Wesley Snipes provides security on a flight transporting a convicted psycho. The whole plot is so predictable after watching 15 minutes you ask yourself, is this worth the bother watching. I persisted in watching this dire movie to give it a chance, maybe things would improve. Basically, the film is about a psycho who fists a few security guys and takes over a plane demanding ransom, well the typical kind of thing you'd expect when you notice the cast. Wesley Snipes is an undercover security officer, who does his fair share of flirting with the air hostess (no surprises there). When the action ... Read the complete review
