Advantages: Great Acting, Great Plot, Great Special Effects

Disadvantages: Sitting in a cinema for three hours

If you don't want to miss out on an amazing film, ignore the critics. I have to say Pearl Harbor is one of the greatest films ever. It captivated the audience from start to finish, culminating with whistles, cheers, and applause.

The film has all the right formulae. Great acting, Great Story, and Great Special Effects.

It combines romance with action but it all runs smoothly, with both getting equal attention, and so the plot was never lost.

Even if it is not exactly correct in a historic way, it awakens you to how tragic the war was. Although it does seem slightly racist, telling how bad Japan was, and it sends across a strong message of how amazing America was.

It hits you like a mallet with how traumatic the war was for everyone involved, soldiers, children, nurses.

The romantic side of the story brought the women to tears, while the men braved it out (well most of them anyway). I'm sure most of the women in the audience would have been equally torn as to which hero they fancied the most!

Without waffling on, if you don't see another film this year, make sure you see Pearl Harbor.

Critics hate it; yet the public seem to rave about it. One of those films whereby you have to make your own mind up I suppose.
