For those of you you don't know who peppa pig is, let me first start by telling you a little bit about her. Peppa Pig is an endearing little pig with an adorably cute curly tail. She lives in a house on top of a hill with her little brother George, her father and her mother. They are often visiting, or being visited by, Grandma and Grandpa Pig.The show is cartoon animated and is shown on either channel five in the mornings or on Nick Jnr during the day. New Shoes is part of my daughter's ever growing Peppa Pig collection. Peppa is a inquisitive little piggy who lives with Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig and her adorable little brother George. Currently airing an episode every weekday on Milkshake on Five (I believe it also airs on Nick Jr.), Peppa Pig quickly endeared herself to my daughter, with the bright simple animation, cute voices, interesting sounds and catchy but simple theme tune. I reckon Peppa Pig will be on this year's Christmas list in my household! No seriously as far as children's characters go, this really is one of the best shows (& I say that having watched episodes at least 30 times!!) This DVD shows what I consider to be some of the best ones - they feature kind of everyday events such as buying a new pair of shoes, making pancakes & a visit from the toothfairy! Episodes are short (about 7-10 minutes each) & all are based around Peppa Pig & her conventional family of a mum, dad & younger brother. We watch Peppa so much in our house I feel like she is a member of the family, I had to stop myself from buying her a Christmas present this year! The tales of a contented family of pigs and their various animal friends will keep young children entertained for some time. The beauty of the episodes is that they are quite short in length so just right for the attention spans of the smaller members of the family. The episodes are quite funny and sweet so quite good for the parents to watch without getting that feeling of 'Oh no, not Peppa Pig again!'
