... AT THE BOLTON ALBERT HALLS* This DVD is filmed in Bolton, Peter's home town. It is also referred to as Peter Kays 'Mum Wants A Bungalow Tour". Like I said before, this stand up routine is brilliant, but i do prefer the other one to this. This act is once again about Peter and his family, with quite abit of it about his experinces of growing up. This includes gags about family weddings (every family has an uncle N*bhead), dunking biscuits (rubbish richtea, and 'dunk me again' hobnobs) Bullseye and Taxi driv...more

Premium Review Peter Kay at the Bolton Albert Halls (DVD): Garlic ... Bread? (838 words)

The problem I have with comedy on DVD or video is that once you've seen it, surely that's it. How many times can you watch something funny, know all the jokes, and still find it funny? Well, it works with the classic ones – the Monty Pythons, the Fawlty Towers – people do watch them over and over again. And it works with Peter Kay, because although I never usually want to see or read anything twice, I've watched this four times and at the time of writing I've only had it for a week. Kay is rumoured to be taking a break from stand-up for a few years, which makes me very glad I have this DVD. Peter Kay is from ...  Read the complete review

... I'm a big fan of Mr. Peter Kay, on this DVD he is simply sublime. This is what he does best..Stand-Up comedy. The venue Bolton's Albert Hall. The initial Taxi scene.. was the only weakness. It would of been a lot worse without Peter's quick wit in the back of the cab. Naturally, the taxi was late picking him up and drove him to the Albert Hall. Though running late Peter Kay's did not lose an audience member as the Albert Hall was packed full of 'J' listed celebs, friends and family. None of them bothered to pick him up on their way to the Albert Hall where he was the star performer. Not only that the taxi was still waiting to take him home after the ...  Read the complete review

Known to many as the star of the Phoenix Nights and the John Smith adverts, Peter Kay is slowly becoming a household name. This latest DVD is taken from his latest ?Mum Wants a Bungalow Tour? and was filmed live in his hometown of Bolton at the Royal Albert Hall. The tour itself lasted nine months, taking in over 300,000 people and still there were many like myself who couldn?t get tickets one of the hundred and eighty performances. The actual DVD starts off slowly with a scene which involves him getting to the venue in a taxi ? whilst this made me smile I?m happy to say this was slightly pointless. I?m sure it was aimed at warming us viewers up but the content ...  Read the complete review

Well if you haven't already heard of him, which i think is quite doubtful, but none-the-less, he is an actor/stand up comedian from Bolton, he starred in the likes of 'Phoenix Nights', 'Max and Paddys Road to Nowhere', and more recently in 'Britain's Got The Pop Factor And Possibly A New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly On Ice' reality show spoof as his creation Geraldine Mcqueen. *LIVE AT THE BOLTON ALBERT HALLS* This DVD is filmed in Bolton, Peter's home town. This was Peter Kay's second live DVD. It was released on 10th November 2003. He named the tour "mum wants a bungalow tour" With this set being a total sell out, Peter Kay properly did have enough money to get his mum one. I have watched this DVD over and over and I never get bored. I have streams rolling down my face every time. This man is so so funny. I cant help but sit there saying "its so true" With his set being based on true life I don't think anyone can not relate to him and find him funny. I saw this set live but when I watched the DVD there was loads in it I had missed (properly due to laughing that much) My favourite quote ...  Read the complete review
