Premium Review Pingu (DVD): Pingu "Bouncy Fun" DVD (890 words)
by - written on 11/09/08 (Very useful, 47 readings)
Rating:

Pingu "Bouncy Fun" DVD Pingu is a darling little Penguin, aged 5 and full of fun. He lives in an igloo with his nuclear family - mother, father and little baby sister, Pinga. Pingu's best friend is Robbie the seal, and his girlfriend (yes, they start young in Penguin Land), is Pingi, whom Pingu met at school. Pingu is a plasticine creation. The animations are excellent in that they are fluid and funny too. If you're over 30, you might remember Tony Hart's Morph - the plasticine creature that inhabited his art table and caused mayhem whenever Tony wasn't looking. Well, it seems that plasticine animated creatures must have a naughty gene, ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Hours and Hours of Pingu Fun (268 words)
by - written on 04/12/08 (Very useful, 95 readings)
Rating:

I have to say that I've got no idea what's going on with this squawking penguin, but my grandson seems to really like him so I guess I'm just too old and set in my ways to get it. The DVD we've got is the Pingu triple pack and that includes Pingu Forever, Pingu the Snowboarder and The Toy Shop. There's over four hours of Pingu on this DVD set and I think that's brilliant value for the price. We paid £6.98 for it last year and even now Amazon are only charging £7.98 for it which is top value for money for all that entertainment. The cartoons all feature Pingu acting out stories with his actions and expressions rather than talking properly. I think ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Pingu (DVD): Mnaark-Mnaark !! Or something ... (379 words)
by - written on 06/01/01 (Very useful, 48 readings)
Rating:

Pingu is an cute little penguin adored by countless children - and their parents, who see the programme as a chance for a few minutes' peace to wash up or stroke the cat. He is a mischievous little boy who gets into scrapes, no matter how much he tries to be good. Not surprisingly, children seem to relate to this ! Even though Pingu is made by a Scandavian company, his language is one all of his own - a strange combination of snorts, trumpets and subdued whimpers - but if you ask a child what he is saying or what is happening, they will know. Pingu transcends national barriers, as children often do - they will find similarities with each ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Do you understand it? (137 words)
by - written on 13/09/00 (Very useful, 37 readings)
Rating:

My 2 year old son likes watching Pingu,he for some reason finds it very funny, has him in fits of laughter often. Pingu is about a family of sweet little penguins, one is called pingu, and he has a sister called pinga , they both get up to mischief when mum and dad is not there.Like play about instead of sleeping when its bedtime but when mum comes to check on them they pretend they are asleep. The one thing i dislike about Pingu is you cannot understand anything they are saying, well i can not anyway! so not very good for encouraging speech in toddlers unless you want your child making silly penguin noises. One good point is it keeps my son amused so i ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Pingu (DVD): Pingu is triple platinum! (376 words)
by - written on 26/02/09 (Useful, 24 readings)
Rating:

Pingu Platinum Collection is the second Pingu DVD I bought for my son, as he loved the first DVD (Pingu Forever) I bought him so much; I wanted to give him something new to look at from time to time. When we first put it in the DVD player I was disappointed because it seemed to be a newer version of Pingu, created by computer animation rather than plasticine. Where had Pingu gone??? His familiar little noises had also changed too, and both my son and myself took time to adjust to this new little Pingu with his polished appearance and different voice! However, before long we soon began to enjoy the new episodes. Bouncy Fun *Robby the ...  Read the complete review
