Advantages: stunts etc
Disadvantages: story and time
Last pirate’s film collected over a billion dollars for the studio, third one was inevitable and here it is.
Pirates Of The Caribbean 3: At World's End (2007) reunites the cast and crew, actors Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Kiera Knightley, Geoffery Rush and director Gore Verbinski have done the other films.
Unfortunately, this film falls in the same trap as Matrix. The story of the pirates has been told twice before. This is one film too many, and at 169 minutes it is wee bit long. After watching PC3 I realised that actors in it were very happy, exotic places filming and the stunts and the pay cheque.
PC3 is a fun film to watch. Story is not important. I guess the enjoyment would be more if the plot is not understood and the lines spoken are not in English because if you try to understand what is happening you will hate the film. The script writers were employed quarter of the way after the filming had started and that shows.
Originally the film script for the first film was an idea of a theme park ride. It turned out to be a very successful idea but I would treat this film as a theme park ride. Just enjoy the stunts and silliness that is in abundance. Three hours is testing anyone’s interest in the film.
Summary: enjoy it but think of time
