Johnny depp strikes gold in this film as he plays Captain Jack Sparrow, a crazy yet ultimately brilliant pirate who is desparate to regain one thing - his ship, the black pearl, and doesn't want to let anything get in his way.
He appears to make friends with Will Turner (played by Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swan (played by Keira Knightley), but you can never be sure quite where his loyalties lie, except of course, that he is always dead against captain barbossa, and always fighting for himself.
the film has huge production values, which fits with the huge amount this film cost to make! but it does make it awesome to watch.
It has everything in it that you would expect a good pirate film to have... from the rum, the singing and eye patches, to parrots, a monkey and plenty of legends and myths incorporated.
Aside from johnny depp, orlando bloom and keira knightly also play fantastic roles in the first part of a hugely successful disney trilogy.
