I’m not the biggest fan of Oliver Stone, although I do appreciate that he has directed some excellent movies over the years, several of which I’ve found to be exceptional. I therefore can’t really explain why it took me so long to get around to watching 'Platoon', one of the most critically acclaimed movies of the ... Read the complete review

This film has some classic one liners, that you will not forget. First things first you have O.Stone made this movie, this man can produce the very best movies and yet again this does not fall below his very high standard he has set. Although I was not in the American services I did serve 20 years in the Canadian Forces and I can sort of ... Read the complete review

I thought the film was very good. It didn't play too much on the harshness of life, the corruption of the Armed Forces and the ridiculusness of the situation. Sure, it was all in there, but the film simply acknowledged these factors, then moved on to tell a great story. There are great monologues, action sequences and camera angles. It all ...
