Well she is an avid pokemon fan and she owns many pokemon items, and is nearly a pokemon master! she has her own pokedex and a talking Pikachu!, and she loves it, we went to the pictures to see it and it kept her entertained through the whole film!, I myself thought it was just an extended episode and not very well thought at all, although it does contain alot of the different pokemon (there's 150, gotta catch em all!)and before the movie and i think this is also featured on the dvd and video releases was a normal length episode called Pikachu's vacation (this is probably a feature because the film isn't very long) and this has cut scenes with pictures of ... This film is just exploiting the appeal of Pokemon to attract kids to come see it and spend their parent's money. I enjoy the TV show, but this is pants compared to the TV show. The story is very confusing, I struggled to follow it and I'm 19! I really don't know how a young kid would be expected to follow. Sure, the prelude to the film, Pikachu's Vacation, is quite good, but the film really sucks. It is like the TV program has been taken in by American sentilmentalism, and the film really did nothing for me whatsoever, apart from disappointing me. ... Read the complete review

Before I start, I watch a lot of anime and one of the ones I enjoy and watch is Pokemon. Now I realise that Pokemon in the UK (and US) is edited and often dubbed to suit a western audience, but I don't usually mind as the shows quite good fun. What I hadn't expected with the film was just how sickening it would turn out to be. Normally the TV episodes have the presence of Team Rocket and the occasional knowing joke to ensure it doesn't descend to far into the saccharine world of kids TV. These elements were almost totally lacking from the first movie. The plot ties in with part of the TV series. A specially engineered Pokemon MewTwo uses his powers ... Read the complete review

Spell of the Unknown is the third instalment of the Pokemon movies. I must admit that I have seen all the Pokemon movies and cartoons released in this country so far all except for the video that you can get for free with this dvd. I picked this up from Woolworths and I got a free cartoon VHS Pokemon tape with this that has four new Pokemon adventures and is called ?Pikachu?s Winter Vacation?. As the name suggests these are based around winter time stories and the Xmas time of year. The video is also produced by Warner bros Family Entertainment group so you know that it is a good quality tape for a freebie that you get when buying this film. Plus you also get free ... If you wondering what this opinion is about, then welcome to Earth, I hope the rocks on your home planet are nice and warm to hide under! Anyway, as a brief summary this movie has Ash and his electric mouse chum Pikachu face off against a nasty, genetically modified Pokemon by the name of Mew-two, who really doesn’t like the fact that he is a genetically modified version of the rarest Pokemon, Mew. So decides to take over the world, how nice of him. The movie is preceded by Pikachu’s Summer Vaction, a short feature (arguably better than the movie itself) in which Pikachu and Ash’s other Pokemon take a day out in a Pokemon holiday ...
