Disadvantages: cartoon human characters eyes - especially the girls, look really stupid

What happens when the legendary three flying pokemon of fire, ice and lightning get down to a serious bit of team tag pokemon fighting? Answer..mayhem !

I've just been dragged along to see this film by my daughter, and I've survived. She did spot me nodding off at one point, but overall I managed to watch most of it. Luckily, I got out of having to watch Pokemon the First Movie, and am astonished to be told that 2000 is a lot better than that one.

There is also a short Pikachu film shown before the main 2000 movie - now even my daughter agrees that that is poor, and she is pokemon crazy - so that gives you a bit of a warning, doesn't it?

As to the main event, well what can I say. There's loads of pokemon, some zany Japanese cartoon characters with those funny cartoon eyes and a sprinkling of computer graphics, mixed up into the film. At least the colours they use are quite nice and bright.

One thing I did find useful in the cinema was the running commentary provided by the kids in the row behind .... "Garadose"......."Articuno!".. ...."Ah, Pikachu"....."Slowbro"....
it went on....
and on.

One bonus was I got a free special addition Mew pokemon card from the cinema as a reward for seeing the movie. Even I know that Mew is the rarest of the Pokemon so maybe it's worth something. Someone over in Japan is making an awful lot of money.

There is one Pokemon that I reckon is pretty cool. Its Mr Mime. Check him out on Pokemon Stadium, if you've got that.
