Predator stands amongst the more imaginative of the mid-late eighties action films and, unlike those overblown dramas, still stands up pretty well today. Whilst Stallone was off battling the evil commies in the increasingly silly Rambo series, his box office rival, Arnie, found a hit with a slightly more subtle (!) movie. Predator starts off in a fairly predictable way, and leads you to suspect that you're going to get nothing more than a standard Hollywood action film. This is a science-fiction experience, par excellence. It may be a sequel to an atmospheric, impressionable first film (by director Ridley Scott), but this one is just as vividly realised (by director James Cameron). These are big, blossoming directors. And you should realise that this was a time of dark and visionary science-fiction, such as The Terminator and Predator), in a time before CGI special effects. Arnie is definetly one of my all time favourites, especially when it comes to movies like this which he does best at. The predator is definetly one of my favourite films and is one of arnies best films. The film is about a bunch of soldiers set in to help some people in a village in jungle that is being attacked. But that isnt tha only thing they will have to worry. As the soldiers try to get out of there they are attacked one by one by the predator and killed. The film has a real great atmosphere to it all and it certainly keeps you on edge.
