Advantages: A real feel good romantic comedy

Disadvantages: none

Well what can I say this is one of my favourite films of all time, it’s a real good girlie film. Richard Gere and Julia Roberts work great together and have a real chemistry on screen.

The story is about a business man Edward Lewis (Richard Gere) who borrowes his lawyer and friend Phil Stuckey’s (Jason Alexander) car and ends up getting lost on Hollywood Boulevard where he meets hooker Vivian Ward (Julia Roberts) and she ends up helping him get back to his hotel, where he ends up asking her to stay the night for $300. Then he asks her to stay the whole week for $3000, to accompany him to dinner parties, meetings and a polo match. Of course she says yes and starts to live the high life, but when Edward gives her money to buy some new clothes knowone helps her and are very rude to her. When she gets back to the hotel, the hotel manager (Hector Elizondo) pulls her into his office and tells her that they don’t rent the rooms by hour, and she tries to explain the situation and it ends up that it is decided that she will be Edwards niece while she stays at the hotel. The hotel manager helps her to get new clothes and helps her with sitting at a dinner table and knowing the order of cutlery and how to sit. The story goes that this hard business man turns into a great guy and they eventually fall in love. But will it end up happily ever after like in the fairy tales, well you’ll just have to watch it and find out.

It has great comedy in it, and is a real feel-good romantic film.

Here is a list of some the cast

Julia Roberts - Vivian Ward
Richard Gere - Edward Lewis
Jason Alexander - Philip Stuckey
Laura San Giacomo - Kit De Luca
Alex Hyde-White - David Morse
Ralph Bellamy - James Morse
Hector Elizondo - Barney Thompson , Hotel Manager

The film is rated 15.

Running time 115 mins

I hope you enjoy this film as much as I do. I highly recommend it.

Summary: Lots of laughs and tears

You need to talk about the DVD extras (if any) if you're going to post in the DVD section.
