Pride and Glory is an intriguing and well made cop thriller about police brutality and corruption. It has an impressive cast list that delivers on what it a tough and convoluted plot, presented in an overly long 2 hours of film. Chief Tierney (John Voight) is proud of his two boys Ray (Ed Norton) and Frannie (Noah Emmerich). When son in law and Sergeant of some of New York's 'Finest' Jimmy (Colin Farrell) loses 4 of his men in what is seemingly an inexplicable presence in a drug dealer's lodgings, Chief persaudes Ray to head up the task force to find out what happened and to track down the crims responsible for the deaths. As Ray digs deeper, he ... Read the complete review

Rating:
This 2008 film starring Colin Firth and Edward Norton was most definitely mediocre. The title doesn't give too much away about the plot, but essentially it is about a family: 2 brothers, 1 dad and a brother in law who are all in the police. The brother in law is not exactly on the straight and narrow and is mixed up in all sorts of underworld things he shouldn't be mixed up in. The film itself is over 2 hours long, and at times, it felt long. Several scenes could have been cut, and others could have been tightened up. For example, a scene with the sister in law who has cancer, wasn't really that central to the plot, yet took up screen time. The ... Read the complete review

Rating:
This is a 15 rated police drama that runs for two hours and contains some strong language and scenes of graphic violence. This film is centred around four NYPD police officers: two brothers Ray Tierney (Edward Norton) and Fran Tierney Jnr (Noah Emmerich), the brother-in-law Jimmy Eagan (Colin Farrell) and the father Fran Tierney Snr (John Voigt). The story starts with the murder of four cops after which Fran Snr persuades his son Ray to leave his post in Missing Persons and lead a task force to investigate these murders. This film follows that investigation: an investigation which soon reveals police corruption. (I don't want to say much more than this ... Read the complete review
