Rating:
When I first saw this programme in ITV back in 2007, I loved it. I got so obsessed with it and I looked forward to it every Saturday. If I had to describe this show, I would say it is like if Spielberg made Jurassic park into a TV show, then it would be something like Primeval. So last week, I was having a wee look on the HMV website, when I saw they were selling the complete first series of Primeval for £2.99! I thought this was brilliant and so I bought it. When I got the dvd I was surprised to find that the first series only has six episode. Somehow when it was being aired on TV it seemed like there was lots of them. The show is all about these ... Primeval Season 1 Please note: Review is on Season 1 and not the DVD Primeval was originally shown on the ITV and the first time I watched it, I found it a hit. It is created by Adrian Hodges and Tim Haines, who previously created the Walking with... documentary series. The show follows a team of scientists tasked with investigating a number of temporal anomalies which have started to open up around Britain, opening up gateways to the past and future, allowing many different prehistoric and futuristic creatures to walk through. Season one came out in 2007 with only 6 episodes. This is the thing I hated the most about ... Read the complete review

A good sci-fi show which involves various "anomalies" appearing over the country (the world?) which seem to be holes in time. In the majority of the episodes a different monster from history, often prehistoric dinosaurs, giant insects etc. The story focuses mostly on the character of Nick Cutter (played well by Douglass Henshall) and the reappearance of his apparently dead Wife, Helen (who he believes to have been dead for the last eight years) The first series of this programme was shown in ITV in 2007. Another two series' have been made, with the third to start showing soon. The prgramme is notable for the effects of the ... Read the complete review

Rating:
Primeval series one mainly looked at how and why "anomalies" were appearing. It also involved massive cover-up stories to not alert and panic the public about monsters. In actual fact, these monsters do kill rather alot of anonymous people. The monsters are all from the past, and came into our time and world through anomalies. All the anomalies seen to happen in One Place, and nowhere else? A bit confusing, but it would have made filming easier. Primeval was a prime-time saturday night television programme on itv. It was a big-budget production with some big storylines and endings. Throughtout Nick Cutter (leader of the detection of ... Read the complete review
