Advantages: Gripping and action packed, Hot Eye Candy To Feast You Eyes On.

Disadvantages: Series 3 Cut Short

Well what can I say if you have never seen prison break that you are truly deprived, I have to say this is the best television series that I have ever seen.

I have been an avid fan from the word go and we are now heading into the fourth series, that means I have been on the edge of my sofa for four years.

Usually there are twenty two fun packed adventure episodes for each series, with the exception of series three where this series was cut short due to the Americans having a writers strike. I have to say now that the writers have decided to resume work we can all look forward to the fourth instalment of the amazing series.

Prison break is an American TV series produced by the fox broadcasting company, this first ever pilot episode was broadcast to the viewing public in august 29th 2005 to the American viewers, and it then came to the UK some weeks later.

Prison Break is been nominated for both the Golden Globe and Emmy awards for the American action and serial drama television series awards. So this in its self shows that this has captured the public's interest.

With each series comes a different story line, all of which to date have had me hooked with the talented and of course good looking actors helping these story lines come to life.

FIRST SERIES

In the first series you are introduced to the main characters, most of which are still on our screens as we are heading into the fourth series.

The first series revolves around two brothers Michael (Wentworth Miller) and Lincoln Schofield (Dominic Purcell). Lincoln has been sentenced to death for the crime of killing the president's brother, in which he did not commit, and his genius brother Michael devises an elaborate plan to help him escape prison. During this series we see the two brothers battle it out against all odds to escape from Riverside state prison.

Both of these two characters are very different from each other, Michael is very talented and clever while Lincoln is high school dropout and a convicted felon. Although these are very different they stand beside each other as they are the only family they know, and will do anything for each other.

During the series you will be introduced to many different characters some good and some bad, these all add to the charm of the show, at times you will hate them and other times you will love them again, this show really flips the tables and you can't help but love it.

One of my favourite characters is T-Bag, Aka Theodore Bagwell he is a known murderer and rapist, he also swings both ways so most of the other inmates are scared of him. In the first series he is the baddie that you just hate but as the show has progressed throughout the series I have really warmed to him and feel that he is not as bad as they first portrayed him to be.

So all in all the first series is based on Michaels fight to save his brother from the electric chair, with the help of Lincolns Ex girl friend Veronica they fight the legal system to free him, if it fails they have the backup plan of escape. They fight to stay alive, while learning who to trust and who not to trust which in a house full of violent criminals can be hard.

Now it wouldn't be TV if the wasn't a love interest, well this is in the form of a doctor Sarah Tancredi she captures the heart of the intelligent Michael scofield, during a huge prison riot Michael plays the hero and saves her from the prison full of rapists. Will this be enough for him to get the girl. Well you will have to watch and see.

CAST & ROLES

DOMINIC PERCELL plays Lincoln Burrows the convicted brother who is innocent of the crime, he is the brother of Michael scofield. He has appeared in all four series to date.

WENTWORTH MILLER plays the lead role of Michael Scofield, a structural engineer before devoting himself full-time to his brother's case, in order to save his life, Michael creates an elaborate plan to help his brother escape from prison. Wentworth has also appeared in all four series.

ROBIN TUNNEY Plays the parts of veronica Donovan, Lincoln burrows childhood sweetheart and ex-girlfriend. She also takes on Lincoln's case to help free him from the death sentence. Robin played veronica in series one and two.

MARSHALL ALLMAN Plays Lj Lincoln junior, Lincoln's son and Michael's nephew. He also appears in all four series.

Amaury Nolasco as Fernando Sucre plays Michaels cell mate, he is a cute Spanish bloke that burgled a liquor store so he could buy his girlfriend an engagement ring. He is always in the wrong place at the wrong time and all he is trying to do is keep his nose clean, He appears in all four series.

Wade Williams as Brad Bellick, This is a character that you love then hate, he starts out as a prison screw but then gets greedy and as the series continues he becomes a convict and ends up on the run with the felons he once locked up every night, Wade also appears in every series to date.

Sarah Wayne Callies plays Sara Tancredi, plays the lovely doctor Sarah she is the daughter of the prison governor. Sarah appears in series one and two then disappears in series three, with a strange twist she comes back in series four.

These are only a few of the exceptional cast the prison break has to offer, many of which are still in the current series of prison break. To me this is important as I hate it when these shows try to get different people to play characters that have left and we have grown to love. To date this has not happened with prison break and all of the original cast are still present.

WHERE TO WATCH THIS

Sky one are the channel that have the rights to the newest episodes of prison break, they are usually played on a Tuesday evening, but with the forth series I am not sure what the play times are, if you have sky the usually you can catch the repeats later in the week if you miss an episode.

I have also seen channel five playing older episodes of prison break so if you have never seen any and fancy giving it a go then look out for them on five.

DVD's are also a great way to catch up with this cracking series and can cost you anything from 20.00-60.00 for each box set series. You can buy them from eBay, Amazon and even high street stores. If you did buy on DVD I would advise you buy the American versions as these come in a complete set and not in two parts, if you but the USA versions you only need to buy the one set and it will cost the same as the first half set in the UK.

MY OPINION.

This has to be the high light of my week watching this series, I love the twist and turns that they have put into the series to date. When the first series finished I was not sure on how they would continue with the follow on series but I have to say they pulled it off and it has only got better in my eye. Honestly how many series have ever got better each year, usually they go downhill but this is just not the case with prison break.

I was slightly disappointed with series three being so short, but they really made up for it with the story lines, this has to be the best series for me yet.

If you find this review interesting I can't recommend enough that you give this a go, girls will love is at there is plenty of eye candy to keep you entertained and you fellas will love it for all the action.

Summary: Great Series That Will Keep You Wanting More.
