A film made by French art-house god Alain Resnais in 1977. This was his first English-language film, and is easier on the mind than the other Resnais films I've seen ('Hiroshima Mon Amour' and 'Last Year At Marienbad', although I saw them both years ago). Even though it was easier to get my head round than those two films, 'Providence' is still quite tricky, obstinately refusing to use any of those dull film conventions like realism and logical narrative.
