Advantages: Daniel Craig is still so cool

Disadvantages: Weak story line

After the huge success of Casino Royale, which single handedly restored the reputation of The James Bond series after a few truly dreadful films, Quantum Of Solace was always going to a lot to live up to. Unfortunately the expectation may have been to high.

Of course this film is good and as a stand alone film it would receive all the plaudits in the world its just most of us were expecting more. The plot is hugely intricate and with all the James Bond films the outcome is totally unexpected. Daniel Craig delivers a stunning performance and it still the King of Cool. The new bond girl is also very good.

However the action scenes are a little pointless and you feel like they have just been shoved in because they needed some action scenes, which makes it all a bit disappointing. Also the "bad guys plot to take over the world" is quite pathetic in terms of how he is going to do it and you feel as though they could have come up with something better, although there is no denying that it would cause serious problems if it were to occur but it isn't worthy of James Bond.

Overall, a good movie but it was always going to dwarfed by the huge expectation placed upon it.

Summary: Don't have too high expectations

I'm not sure it made much sense anyway! I'm still not quite sure why the female lead is Russian/Bolivian ... not a common mix.

As a stand alone film this would fail miserably because it would make no sense without seeing the previous one :o)
