After Quatermass' doomed rocket experiment, the short-tempered professor (Brian Donlevy) has turned his attention to the colonisation of the moon by designing and bidding for the construction of a base that utilises huge air-sealed domes. However, due to the massive funding required, his proposals continue to be dismissed, and it is only when a volley of unusual meteorites land on Earth does his attention turn. I enjoyed this movie just as much as the first - I'm a sucker for these old science fiction movies. One of the thing I like is looking out for actors and actresses playing small roles, who would later become famous in their own right. One to watch out for here is Sid James (or 'Sidney' James as he is billed here) as a lowlife named Jimmy Hall. Val Guest again directed, returning from the first movie, although ...
