This is one of the most moving films I have ever seen. For anyone who hasn't seen it, it is about a young car salesman, Charlie Babbitt (played by Tom Cruise), who discovers he has a long lost autistic brother. The way he discovers this is when his dad dies, and his brother gets almost everything in the will. The plot centres on how this brother steals Babbitt's heart. At first Cruise is furious, and kidnaps his brother in an attempt to recover some of his 'inheritance,' but once on the run with his brother he begins to have a change of heart.

The acting in the film is superb. Dustin Hoffman turns out what has to be the best performance I have ever seen as the autistic brother. He is at once loveable and cute, but then, just when you want to hug him, it turns out there can be no way through to him, and he hasn't developed the same bond with you.

You simply have to see it. It is quite stunning.

Summary:
