This is the rambo i was waiting for. Silent, brooding, damaged muscle of a man who could Kill you with one blow if you looked at hom wrong. I have been a fan of the rambo films for a long time. The first was great, showing a man damaged from war, the 2nd and 3rd just fun silly action movies. This however is something diffrent. Useing the terrifying ordeal in burma as a story and placing rambo in this was genius. It starts with rambo yet again alone living a peacefull life, punishing himself for actions that wasnt his fault. Angry with the worl and wanting peace in his life. He is contacted by a group of good people wanting to help the deprived in burma, at first he neglects to help as he thinks the mission is to dangerous but then changes his mind. On the way he bonds with one of the group, goes back home. finds out hthey have been kidnapped then bang. The action starts. Stallone plays the character very well and even though he is getting on a bit, every bulging muscle that is rambo still convinces this is a man you want on your side. The directing is very well done also, with some truly stunning scenes and well shot action scenes. Stallone captures the conflict in burma really well and the shocking action scenes wont make me forget what a horrifying situation has gone on. its nice to see stallone back as his second most popular character, and he deserves credit for making an 80's action hero stand up against the mediocre heroes that are represented on our screens today. A great film, well acted and directed, it wont be winning any award but shows stallones talent in waves.
