... Claire Redfield from Resident Evil 2 is caught in an airport terminal surrounded by zombies where she is rescued by her long-time friend Leon Kennedy. The plot of this film is dark and convoluted but if you like the games then this won't come as a surprise and I think the characters have a lot of depth. Leon has very much been written as the hard ass he was in Resident Evil 4 and Claire as she was in Code Veronica. The new characters Curtis and Angela flesh out the story very well and I hope Angela makes an appearance in...more

Premium Review Resident Evil - Degeneration (DVD): A great new story. (213 words)

Rating:

As a Resident Evil fan I find it hard to write a non-biased opinion about this film but I'll give it a go. This film is made in house by Capcom and chronicles events that occur between Resident Evil 4 and 5. The Umbrella corporation has been crushed but other corporations are trying to carry on their dastardly work and Claire Redfield from Resident Evil 2 is caught in an airport terminal surrounded by zombies where she is rescued by her long-time friend Leon Kennedy. The plot of this film is dark and convoluted but if you like the games then this won't come as a surprise and I think the characters have a lot of depth. Resident Evil Degeneration is the first full-length Japanese CG animation feature based upon Capcom's Resident Evil video game series, and given the hokey quality of the live action films from Paul W.S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, appearing together again for the first time since that game (Claire was the protagonist of Code Veronica X whilst Leon was the protagonist of Resident Evil ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Resident Evil - Degeneration (DVD): Resident Evil : Degeneration : A common genre with a differe ... (438 words)

Rating:

Resident Evil : Degeneration was released on DVD at the start of January 2009. Directed by Makoto Kamiya, this Japanese film was released as a bridge between the films in the series, Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. I have to say I had never heard of this film until its release when I noticed it in WHSmith. Even then I should add, I did not become attracted to this film, instead it was purchased by a friend and I watched it purely because he had it on and I thought I would give it a go. I think part of the reason why I was not immediately attracted ot this film was that by looking at the cover, it reminded me of a computer game, something of which I am ...  Read the complete review
