This film finished off the original Star Wars Trilogy, and while it was an excellent movie, i think the overal effect was marred by those stupid little bears who take on giant robotic killing machines and win. Thank god they didn't use the bits that were left in the book! This film could have been the best if it wasn't for those muppets. It follows the cliffhanger ending of Empire Strikes back - "Luke! I am you father!" and Han Solo has been captured by a fearless Bounty Hunter. First on the agenda: free you mate! What a blinding pace? Luke hands over the droids to Jabba, Chewie comes in captured, Han is set free, then Han and Leia are ... Read the complete review

I have been a fan of the Star Wars phenomenon since it originally surfaced over 20 years ago. This film, Return of the Jedi, was the last instalment in the original Star Wars Trilogy (and don't start telling me about the new trilogy because it will NEVER be the same thing). In Return of the Jedi we once again are taken on a rollercoaster ride witnessing the struggle of the Rebel Alliance against the Empire. At the time this film was made, special effects were very much still a new thing and even now as you watch the film the effects are VERY impressive for a film which is 17 years old. That's something which only films that have ... Read the complete review

Well the Star Wars trilogy wraps itself up with Return Of the Jedi, originally to be called Revenge of the Jedi. A finely written tale which sees the return of Han Solo, rescrued from his frozen captivity and Luke Skywalker with a robotic hand and carrying the force with him. This is a wonderful end to the trilogy, which sees the end of the Empire and Luke facing his father for the last time and actually turning him to the good side. I think the Ewoks were put in mainly for the kids but they are still fun to watch and the whole film is a joy to see. It never fails to make me happy when watching it. ... Read the complete review

Return of the Jedi was the third installament to be made (realesed 1983) and the sixth chapter of the epic Star Wars saga. Han Solo is frozen in Carbonite & held prisoner by Jabba the Hutt. Luke Skywalker has been defeated by Darth Vader & wounded in battle. The Alliance is loosing the war. The film begin with Luke Sywalker infiltratind Jabba's palace to release Han Solo from Jabba's grip. Luke succeeds in his efforts & Solo is reunited with the rest of the Alliance. They have a plan to detroy the Empire for good. An all or nothing assualt on the New Death Star space station on which the Emperor will be. The battle of Endor then ... Read the complete review

Luke is now a full Jedi knight. The movie begins with him following a failed rescue attempt of his friend Han Solo from the evil clutches of Jabba the Hutt. Princess Leia was the failed rescuer and is currently in chains and skimpy costume. The rescue sees the end of Jabba and Boba Fett the bounty hunter. The whole sequence is very pleasing because Luke has so obviously grown and matured and is now dictating the fates of others. The Empire has been busy in the meanwhile and has nearly completed a new death star. Unfortunately they've chosen to orbit a planet with annoying cutethings, the Ewoks. I guess they grow on you, but they are obviously a bid to ... Read the complete review
