This is a London based gangster action film from Guy Ritchie. This is 110 minutes long and is 15 rated: it contains strong language, violence, sexual references and scenes of drug abuse. This starts off focusing on Lenny Cole (Tom Wilkinson) and his right hand man Archy (Mark Strong). Lenny is an old time gangster boss who is very rich and very powerful and one of the people he has in his pocket is the Councillor (Jimi Mistry) who helps him sort out planning issues. Lenny makes most of his money through bent property deals and, for the cool sum of seven million, is currently sorting out planning for Russian billionaire Yuri Omovich (Karel Roden). Omovich's ... Archie: "People ask the question... what's a RocknRolla? And I tell 'em - it's not about drums, drugs, and hospital drips, oh no. There's more there than that, my friend. We all like a bit of the good life - some the money, some the drugs, other the sex game, the glamour, or the fame. But a RocknRolla, oh, he's different. Why? Because a real RocknRolla wants the f**king lot..." After Madonna humiliated Guy Ritchie by preferring adopted rainbow children to a donation from his 'six- shooter', she's gone of into the sunset and so has his directing career, the very staid and predictable 'RocknRolla' back-to basics for the pseudo cockney. 'Mockney' ... Read the complete review

WHAT IS IT ABOUT: The darky under-side of London is explored in Guy Ritchie's latest outing that sees a dodgy multi-million pound real estate deal risk falling apart because of a prized painting that falls into the hands of a drug addict rock star who's supposed to be dead. IS IT ANY GOOD: Guy Ritchie has proven himself to be a bit hit or miss when it comes to making Tarrantino-esque multi-narrative gangster films; at his best, Snatch is a phenomenal work, whereas Lock Stock falls short, and now Rocknrolla adds to the list of failures. There are two main problems with this film. First up, the disjointed plot: it's a big risk making a ... Read the complete review

The one thing you're always guaranteed to get from a Guy Ritchie film is an incredibly complex and twisted plot with lots of clever dialogue. He hasn't always hit the right buttons wth his films, but Rocknrolla is a real return to form, as we see the corruption of humanity rear its ugly head for another chapter. Okay, so: the plot. This is going to be tricky to explain, but it ultimately revolves around a proposed business deal regarding property development and how backhanders basically control what goes on. The scene is London, returning to Ritchie's safe haven of film success, and we are introduced to a motley crew of characters who form a vicious crooked ... Read the complete review
