I never really liked the movie Jaws as I find it hard to buy into these animal super killer types of film however I do remember being rather freaked out by a film about a mass of killer soldier ants one time which was a bit grusome, however in Rogue we have a giant set of boots and handbag but with large sharp teeth in the form of a giant alligator. Exotic films about killer animals, like the huge snake in Anaconda and a massive crocodile in Primeval are very hit and miss, often corny, and downright dire in the latter instance, but Rogue is one of the rare instances that's executed with some grace, largely because it directs with a fair wink and nod towards the audience, fully acknowledging how absurd, and in the wrong hands, cliched it is.
