This is an average action film that I have seen a couple of times. Jet Li stars as Han Sing, a cop out to find the person who murdered his brother. In pursuit of the perpetrator he finds himself drawn to a mysterious woman whose father is involved deeper than he would like to think in the death of his brother.

OK, this is an interesting film in that it combines some martial arts stuff with out and out action. For example, there's a mix of well choreographed one on one fight scenes, as well as high octane vehicle chases. Think of it as Fast and Furious meets Bruce Lee, and you're half-way there.

This was the early days of Li's career, and it shows. The film is really a hollywood attempt at combining martial arts with cars and gangsters, and the result is average.

The plot is great for those who love violence, car chases and fit girls (teen boys then), but really offers little more for the discerning film viewer to get their teeth into.

The acting is basic and one dimensional. Of note, Aaliyah stars and it's a shame to watch it knowing she was soon to die.

The Romeo and Juliet link is not played on much at all, which is a shame as it would have worked well and given a bit more depth to the film.

At nearly two hours, the film is too long for an action movie, and drops in pace in the last third.

All in all, a basic action movie that does an OK job of bringing martial arts into it.
