Directed by Billy Wilder, this film is about Sabrina Fairchild (Audrey Hepburn), a chauffeur's daughter infatuated with one of her fathers' bosses' sons Larrabee (William Holden). He sees her as just a child so distraught she heads for Paris to a chef school and returns a sophisticated woman of the world. Unrecognisable, David falls for her although already engaged to another woman whose family are engaged in a business deal with David's brother Linus (Humphrey Bogart). Introduction Much as I love my gran, I’ve been spending a lot of time with her recently because of a fractured hip and it does mean listening to the same stories time and time again. So when my sister turned up with a collection of Audrey Hepburn films, I was delighted. Sabrina Fair is not one of her better known films, but it’s an enjoyable, light-hearted film that amused us for a couple of hours and gave me a bit of a break from the stories! The film was remade in 1995 starring Harrison Ford, Julia Ormond and Greg Kinnear; although I haven’t seen it, the reviews have been good. The director Billy Wilder died in 2002 in his 96th year.
