Advantages: Concept, Acting of few characters

Salaam-E-Ishq released in 2007 isa bollywood Multi-starrer film. It has 12 stars in the leading role and its a romantic movie. This movie is inspired by Love Actually, but is has different stories(Adding Bollywood Flavour to it). Movie directed by Nikhil Advani of Kal Ho Na Ho Fame.

Plot:

Well the movie is about six different love stories, showing how they fall in love, what are the problems in thier life etc.

Vinay and Seema are happily married, and have to kids, they live in London. Vinay works in an Event Management company and is soing good. He has been married to Seema for 15 years, but feels that his life is too boring now and there is no variety, he gets attracted to a young, beautifull woman Anjali(played by some Indian Model). He meets her on london tube, Anjali also gets attracted to his Innosence. So now Vinay has a extra-marital affair, and seema does come to know about this in movie. So what happens with this couple? for this you have to watch the movie.

Kamini is a big Item Girl in bollywood, but she wants to go in main stream cinema and act in a leading role. She wants to work with Karan Johar and wants to be the next tragedy queen in bollywood. but as she does not have any controversy and dont have a boyfriend she thinks she would not be called by Karan Johar to act in his film as she in real life does not have any affairs or dont know what love is. So she makes up a false story about having a boyfriend by name Rahul, and she anounces this in a Press conference. Kamini has to leave for London for a show which is managed by Vinay's Event management company. To her suprise some one comes with press at the airport and claims that he is Rahul, now Kamini goes in a fix as she cant say that he is not Rahul, coz she Lied about Rahul. So now they both go to London together. So now thier story starts and what happens next? is to be find out.

Shiven and Gia are both in love, Gia wants to get marry to Shiven but Shiven is not ready for it. Gia's family dont like Shiven but just for thier daughter's happiness they accept him. Shiven loves gis but is not ready to tie the knot of marriage, he is always late in whatever he does. But later he agrees for Marriage and he gets Engaged to Gia. But after sometime he breaks the engagement and says to Gia he loves her, and they can always be together but he just dont want to commit for marriage. But Gia is not ready for this. So what happens with this story?

Ashutosh & Tehzeeb both are TV reporters for a news channel. Both are married and they live alone. Ashutosh is Hindu & Tehzeeb is a Muslim girl. Ashutosh's father a big lawyer was against his marriage to muslim girl, but he love tehzeeb so much that he went against his Dad wishes, but his mother is supportive to him. thier life goes on smoothly untill in a train accident Tehzeeb gets badly injured and loses her Memory. Now she does not remember Ashutosh but she remembers her parents. So now Ashutosh is keen to bring her memory back and remind her about him, as he cannot live without her. What happens with thier love story?

Raju is taximan, he was once told by an Astrologer that his destiny will change once there comes Angrezi(Foriegner) in his life. Raju starts dreaming about this and waits for her female to come from Airport one day and so that he can live a happy life with her. One day stephenie comes from New York to Delhi and comes and sit in Raju's taxi, now Raju feels that this is the girl and falls in love with her. Stephenie comes to India to search her boyfriend who is Indian and getting married to an Indian Girl. She loves him a lot, Raju cannot speak good English & Stephenie cannot speak Hindi. So big communication problem, but when Raju comes to know about Stephenie, his hearts broke but he decides that he will help Stephenie in finding her Love. What happens in this story?

Last love story is about Ramdayal he is a farmer and is newly wed to Phoolvati. He is eager to have his first night spend with his wife, but on the first night due to his eagerness and accident happens and this goes in vain, evverytime he wants to spend time there is some blunder happens to him and not able to do any thing. He just wants to break the ice but everytime some wrong goes against him. What happens with them?

Music :

Music given by Shankar -Ehsaan -Loy is brilliant, they are doing good work in every movie. The music cathes your ears everytime you listen. almost every song of this movie is a big hit, but my personal favourite is 'Ya Rabba'. its a slow romantic song, the music and wordings of this song is brilliant. Other song like Title song & Sonia mein to sehra baand ke aaya re are dance numbers. I think you will enjoy the music.

My Say:

Well i did watch love actually first, and i loved it. i loved the concept of different love stories in one movie. And when i first heard about this movie, and the stars in it. I thought it will be a big hit and something orth watching. And also the director Nikhil Advani who before this movie had directed Kal Ho Naa Ho, one of my Fav movies. I thought this again would be a brilliant movie.

But my expectation went in vain, this movie was an ok movie for me. It was a bit too long, i know bollywood movies are long in duration but this one was more it could have been shorter, plus the movie just didnt appeal to me the way Love Actually did to me.
This movie could have been better if it was not dragged in second half, and despite having Emotional scenes, which were not executed properly dont leave a much impact on you. There is More drama but it was all not executed very well by the director, so it just does not appeal to you much.

Out of all the stories you will love too see Shiven-Jia, Raju-Stephanie one. Ramdayal-Phoolmati do make you laugh. Vinay -seema are alright, Ashutosh & Tehzeeb also barable but not Kamini & Rahul for me.

The Anil Kapoor-Juhi Chawla story works out just becuase of the performance given by these two great actors. Anil kapoor has done full justice to his role of playing the character of a Man of age 40 and gets naught at 40.
Juhi Chawla has done good with her part of playing a housewife & mother. She was perfect for this role.

Salman-Priyanka story was the most boring in this film. I was expectimg much for this story as i like Salman and he bring style with him. But the story of these two was bring out very poorly and the acting was also not upto the mark from both of them. This all goes to Director's blame.

John-Vidya story also just do not appeal much, this story also was not executed properly, it was just a man trying to get back the memory that his wife loses. John & Vidya balan were allright, they have not done a great job, but yes acceptable one.

Sohail-Isha story, well the story was just playing of a filler part in the movie, coming in background after some time, they didnt have much to do in the movie, yes but you laugh when you see what happens with them. it was just use as a filler which i feel nothing much for the movie. But sohail & Isha did a very good job, they make you laugh, specially sohail with his actions.

Govinda-Shannon track is really fun to watch, this concept was really good to watch. And both the actors have just done perfect for thier characters. Shannon was brilliant in her part, she was also good when she says some hindi words in her dialogue. And i'm sure you will like her and laugh when she says her dialouge. Govinda was simply good for this role, he has done a very good job. you wil surely like him.

But the best story is of Akshay-Ayesha, you will love both of thier performance & Story, But mainly because of Akshay. What a performance, His comictiming and the way he inacted and Eccentric, commitment phobic lover. You will love him for this. He will make you laugh everytime. Ayesha on the other hand pf playing a good girl character has done good.

Some of the stories are linked, and some do meet in the climax of the movie. One good part is the climax of the movie which will make you laugh. You will enjoy the climax if you watch the movie.

Director Nikhil, i was expecting so much from him. But was let down by his direction. The was he executed the whole movie didnt appeal to me. The concept was great but the execution was bad, he had a great star cast, but didnt use all of them to perfection. Salman was totally wasted. He is a crowd puller but this time that also didnt work. If had made this movie short & made it with little care it could have been a bigger blockbuster.

Over all this is a n Ok movie, you can do watch it for few people & stories. But dont expect too much.

Also movie is available in Subtitltes, so you wont have much problem in Understanding it.
