Disadvantages: long but worth it

This film has been around for some time now, but it is only about three weeks ago that I saw it for the first time.

The main reason for this hole in my film watching was mainly down to my wife who flatly refused to go with me to see it, and I did not fancy going on my own (boo hoo).

I borrowed it from a friend, and when i put it on, guess what, she sat down with me, but as she said "just for a minute to see what the fuss is about"

Two hours and forty minutes later she got up!!

This is a compelling film in which you always believe that someone is going to 'get it' and frequently this happens.

It displays all that was true about war, from compassion to pure savagery, and is a compulsive watch. Never mind the first twenty minutes, the real film is the whole 2 hours and 40 mins.

A great film, and you recognise so many actors!
