I can in no way fault this movie. It was the best war movie I've ever seen in my lifetime. But that's not a very long time. (15 years) But I have seen many-a war movie. And I've come to realize that wars and the army are probably the least glamourous things on the face of this earth. I mean, we all know war is bad and horrible and a horrendous thing to go through. But I believe that even knowing that, we still glamourize it more than it really is. This movie shows the world that has never seen war, what World War II was like to many army officials. We all know it wasn't clean, nice, fair, wanted, or even needed. But this movie shows how war was like. (But a made-for-TV version) If this movie really portrayed just how gruesome war really was, it wouldn't have been a rated pg-17, or a rated R. It would have been rated X, or something worse than that. And it wouldn't have taken up the two and change hours that it took to show the movie. War isn't about missions, death, or guns. War is based on anger. War is based on someone who didn't want to settle this with a polite conversation. War is based on someone who wanted to see how trigger happy his or her country is compared to the other. War was based on the human feeling for western colonization. It was based on someone who wanted to feel superior.

But that's all just my theory.

This movie portrays war as Disney oriented as they could have it. Although it was very gory, very horrible, bloody, even patriotic, World War II will never be given the right light that it deserves on the silver screen. Although Steven Speilburg did a GREAT job on the effects, backgrounds, sounds, and storyline, no movie will ever do World War II justice. Again, Saving Private Ryan has a great storyline and GREAT special effects, music, sounds, and a wonderful background for the movie. But there's one thing I didn't like about it. I didn't like how the
cameras would move back and forth, kinda jittery. When I left the theatre, I had a throbbing headache from watching it. (But I get headaches very easily) But still I think it is a great movie. Hey, thousands of people died during WWII, we can at least suffer a headache.

Although this movie is very gory and very realistic, I believe that children should watch it. It may not be good for children, but our young generation needs to know that war is horrible and definitely not needed. Our young generation needs to realize that wars and disputes can be solved on the negotiating table. Disputes don't need to be solved in our countryside with guns and tanks. My generation needs to know that immediately, because we're the next generation of politicians.

If you like this opinion, say so. Give me a 'very useful'. If you don't, just write a commentary. Thank you for reading my opinion. Go ahead and look at my profile and see if there's any more that you like. Or don't like. Again thank you.

Good opinion. War is, I'm afraid, the only option sometimes.

I quite liked your opinion, I did not like the advert at the bottom, but kept my rating as though it wasn't there. That way when you edit it out you won't be unfairly rated.
