A review of the film only, this is based on film edit shown on the Extreme Edition region 2 DVD, released on March 9th. Jigsaw is dead but at the end of Saw 4 we learnt that his legacy lives on. In the aftermath of the climactic events seen in the previous film, detective Mark Hoffman has been promoted to lieutenant, but somebody knows that he harbours a dark secret. FBI Agent Strahm, released on medical leave, makes it his business to find out more about the mysteries of the infamous serial killer and gradually pieces together the clues. Meanwhile, five unwilling victims wake up in a filthy, isolated room and find themselves thrust into a very dangerous ... Read the complete review

One Last Time, For Old Time's Sake ============================== John or Jigsaw is finally dead, so this should be the end of the gruesome deaths, or will it? With his recruit also dead there can surely be no more games. Well where there's a will there's a way and the games are still not over! Agent Strahm, a Jigsaw survivor is suspicious of detective Hoffman, a fellow survivor working the case, and a new game is underway. Is anyone who they seem though, and what is the truth? Conclusion ========= There's more than one way to skin a cat? Well, it seems five (so far). Another wise statement that comes to mind ... Read the complete review

Detective Mark Hoffman and Agent Peter Strahm are at odds over murders that have Jigsaw's influence all over them, although Jigsaw is supposedly dead. After the death of fellow officers and his own near-death experience, Strahm suspects that Hoffman is an accomplice of Jigsaw. Hoffman, recently commended for having apprehended Jigsaw, realises that Strahm may be catching up with him and knows that he has to do something about it. Meanwhile five seemingly random strangers wake up with shackles around their necks. They realise that they have a series of tests to complete, with the completion of each stage necessary before the next one becomes available. But each are ... Read the complete review

******* Film Only Review ******* Having been a bit of a fan of the Saw films I wanted to see this in the cinema but for some reason I never managed to, so given the walk around blockbusters on Saturday night me and the other half picked this film and Eden Lake to watch..
