A review of the film only, this is based on film edit shown on the Extreme Edition region 2 DVD, released on March 9th. Jigsaw is dead but at the end of Saw 4 we learnt that his legacy lives on. As I am sure is the case with many a horror movie fan, I have sat through the previous 4 films which involve the deep, dark and twisted mind of Jigsaw, a sort of evil angel of justice and vengeance as he explores the human psyche in the most violent ways possible, pushing people to their limits with persuasion, pressure and inference, without ever lifting a finger to injure them himself. Detective Mark Hoffman and Agent Peter Strahm are at odds over murders that have Jigsaw's influence all over them, although Jigsaw is supposedly dead. After the death of fellow officers and his own near-death experience, Strahm suspects that Hoffman is an accomplice of Jigsaw. ******* Film Only Review ******* Having been a bit of a fan of the Saw films I wanted to see this in the cinema but for some reason I never managed to, so given the walk around blockbusters on Saturday night me and the other half picked this film and Eden Lake to watch..
