SAW - An excellent film (Saw (DVD))

Advantages: brilliantly clever, exciting and fast paced

Disadvantages: gory and a bit frightening if you are a bit of a wimp!

Saw cuts deep into the fear emotions from the very beginning of the film when the viewer is bombarded with the stark image of two men chained to pipes in a blank clinical yet dirty looking room.

They have no idea why they are there or what is going to come of them. Throughout the film it becomes clearer although many questions remain unanswered. The pair must work together, yet against each other to escape the hell that they have found themselves in.

The main perpetrator's identity is not actually discovered until the end of the film and it is a particularly unusual outcome which would surprise most viewers.

The film is left hanging and it is almost impossible to stop yourself from viewing the next film because you just have to know what happens next.

I don't normally go for this sort of film, but I think it can appeal to a wide range of people because of it's gory content, which a lot of people will enjoy, and secondly because of it's mystery and secret revealing that keeps the viewer on your toes.

Saw is gory but strangely addictive. It is so very clever that you wonder how somebody could have come up with the idea. Don't watch it alone...

Summary: such a clever film, it will leave you wanting more.
