Advantages: Extremely funny.

For some reason or another, Scary Movie has received a lot of bad press from newspaper and television reviews but to be perfectly honest it was the most I've ever laughed at a movie. I do not really know, nor do I care where, what or who these reviewers are getting their opinions on this movie from but I can only guess that they have not actually been to see the movie or they saw a different movie from the one I saw.
I do not want to go into any great detail about the plot of the movie, mainly because there isn't one but that just contributes even more to the movie's greatness. Scary Movie is not the type of film which you go to see so you can analyse every little detail, or so you can figure out clever, little, hidden plot twists. It does not claim to be anything like this. Scary Movie is just an hour and a half of good, clean (well not exactly celan for the most part of it) fun. The movie's only goal is to spoof lots of chiller movies from the past 10 or so years, including the Scream movies, the blair witch project, the sixth sense and many more which will make you go ahh! while you are laughing your backside off. This movie isn't going to end up as a 'must have' for every video collection in every home, nor is it going to be playing on classic movie channels in 30 years time. In fact, as soon as all the movies which are spoofed in this flick are all forgotten about, this movie will be almost entirely incomprehensable to anyone who watches it. And that my friends is the main reason why urge you all to go out and watch it. Scary Movie is a genuinely funny peice of film but it may not be for long so I recommend that everyone just forgets what the critics say and judges it for themselves while the gags are still fresh.
