Advantages: Really funny, entertaining, loads of great one liners
Disadvantages: None
I completely love spoof films and i always go for comedy films over any other type of film. When i saw the adverts for this film, i couldnt wait to see it as it looked really funny and i went and saw it in the cinema as soon as i could after it was released.
If you have never heard of Scary Movie before, it is a spoof horror film that hit our screens in 2000. It was directed by Keenan Wayans from The Wayans Brothers.
I have always thought they have a great sense of hunour so was confident that i would enjoy this film.
The running time is 88 minutes and it has grossed over two hundred and seventy eight million dollars worldwide! Woz, this just shows how popular it is.
The plot is centred around a group of teenagers carrying out really funny spoof takes from several great films. We first see character Drew alone and recieving a telephone call. This is obviously a spoof from the brilliant film Scream.
She ends up murdered by the psychotic killer but a lot of funny things happen before this. They try to piece together the murder in the rest of the film but every scene always seemed to make me laugh to the point where i almost cried.
I wont give away too much of the plot so i dont ruin it for you but i will say that this film is brilliant and i would encourage anyone with a sense of humour to watch it.
There are loads of one liners, a lot of offbeat humour with some slapstick thrown in for good measure.
The cast list is great and there are a lot of big names in the film. These include Jon Abrahams, Carmen Electra, Shannon Elizabeth and Shawn Wayans.
The film makes fun of and parodys a lot of other famous films like Scream, The Sixth Sense and the Blair Witch Project. I guarantee if you have seen this films before and have a good sense of humour, then you will love Scary Movie.
I have the dvd of this film and must have watched it at least ten times. It never bores me or fails to disappoint.
I cant remember what i paid for my copy of the dvd but you can buy it at the moment from Amazon for £3.98 which is a brilliant price for it.
Summary: Get it
