Advantages: Hilarious one time, Features the Wyan bro's

Disadvantages: Boring after first time, Very slack spoof

Yes, yes, yes, the spoof genre does usually make you laugh, but there is a difference between spoofing, and being plain ridiculous. I'd be the first to admit that when I first say this film I loved it, laughed out loud from start to finish and told everyone about it for weeks. But then it got boring, really quick. Infact it got boring after the second time of seeing.

Scary Movie is basically making fun of all other horror flicks, but is it taking the mick, or is it just being stupid? There is comedy, and then there is stupidity. Seeing someones head cut off, but still talking does not attract me as being a realistic character trait of anyone. Before that happened you did feel that the movie had some sense of realism, I know that its a spoof comedy horror flick, a genre which isn't known for it's realism, but all the way though you could say "well that COULD happen", and that does help the movie stay on its feet. But the talking head ruined it, I lost all respect for the writers and for the plot on the whole.

I have been a huge fan of the Wyan brothers ever since the hilarious movie "Don't be a menace to South Central while drinking your juice in the hood" - a film which I recommend everyone to watch, apart from those who have a weak heart. But Scary Movie does little for their credibility as film writers. And does everything for their abilities as actors, they do make the movie funny where it fails elsewhere.

So you want to make a movie? Easy, throw small references to other films in and show a women with her top off, ain't too hard is it? Scary Movie 2 I will not be seeing, as I fear it will go the same road as so many sequals have gone in the past.

Funny at first, dissapointment again, basically don't waste money seeing this film, after all, it will be on TV within the next millenia - which is too soon in my humble opinion.
