Sequels SUCK! Not this one though (Scream 2 (DVD))

Advantages: Brillant performances, suspensful

Disadvantages: Not as good as Scream 1

Anyone who knows me knows how i much i like this 90's horror film that i regard as the best horrror franchise set of films by my faviourite movie director Wes Craven. I tend to always say sequels ruin the first movie origianlly but this is a brillant exception. Watching every minute of this film is suspensful, thrilling and has you on the edge of your seat. You will be horrified one minute and laughing your head off to a one liner by a slightly comedic cast in a serious horror film.

Scream one set the tone. It set the tone for what the movie was about. It was centered on a college student Sydney Prescott, whose murder had been murdered a year ago and raped who was an actress under the name of Rina Renyolds. The killer alegeldy tries to take credit for that, but they could just be imitating. The killer in the last series was the disgusting charachter of Billy Loomas and Stu - two psycho kids obessed with horror films pretending to be Sydneys boyfriend and college friend who tried to kill her but her ruthlessness managed to surivvie another year. It also stars the brillant role of the quite fantastic Gail Weathers - i tell you it's one of the best roles on TV i've ever seen played by Friend's Courtney Cox obviously still cracking jokes about her Friends costars ''naked pictures on the internet where not me, they where just my head they where Jennifer Aniston's body''. The brillant David Arquette who's Patricia Arquette's brother but after the first scream Courtney and David met and eventually married and are still together with kids even today. The supporting cast of college kids is as you expect goofy, serious, obessesed with horror films etc

The second Scream sees Sydney move to another college trying to get away from Woodsbro. At the same time a movie above their time in Woodsbro is released and the killer is at the premiere in a flash armed with free merchandise including scream masks the killer is inside one and manages to murder two students at the cinemea and continues throughout the movie horrifying student in near hit and miss sittuations. Broken Sydney played by Neve Campbell who may i add is just too fantastic in this role - should have won a Oscar! The movie has brillant moments and the killer is clever - i won't say much there are 2 killers and both are shown on screen during the movie, i don't think logically anyone can work it out but it's a huge suprise when it's revealed

The movie has moments where you will be watching every second suspensfully and closely and sitting on the edge of your seat or gently smirking to the one liner by a supporting cast member. This movie is so brillant i throughly recommend watching it. In my opinion it's not as good as the first but what sequel is, and the movie suceeding this Scream 3 is not as good as Scream 2 if you get what i mean! Watchout for some cringeworthy moment with Derek serending Sydney with a Tom Cruise movie classic and keep your eyes peeled for the revealtion at the end, you'll love every second and every now and then again you may just Scream (i did).

I've atcually convinced myself to watch this wonderful movie again now ;)
