Better than 2, no where near 1 (Scream 3 (DVD))

Advantages: Meant to be the closing part in a good trilogy

Scream 3 is by all accounts an average, paint by numbers, slasher flick. Its better than the just below average Scream 2 (I mean killing Randy - come on!!!) but no where near the superb Scream.

All the main characters return for this film (even Randy in a clever way), but we should of guessed that once Williamson handed over the script to Kruger it would be in trouble. Anyway there making a film called Stab 3 (about the killings at Greensboro!!) and some of the actors are being killed in the order of the script (but theres multiple versions of it), any way Cotton has just cameoed in it and hes the first to die.

Sidney lives out in the country somewhere with multiple burgular alarms and big dogs and is working as a guidance worker taking calls at home, but when Gail hears about the murders she goes to the Stab 3 set where she finds Dewey working as an advisor. The old team gets back together with the cast of Stab 3 to try and catch the killer. With the first Scream it basically told you that Billy was the killer before totally making you assume he wasnt then *Whack* you find out he his, With Scream 3 it points the finger at so many people its almost impossible to guess and at the end it may take you time to tell who the killer actually was in the film.

The main saving grace of this film is the cameo by Jay and Silent Bob (just behind them is Wes Craven) who are touring the studios where Stab 3 is being filmed.

There are alot of stuff Cut from this film but most of the deleted stuff on the DVD is just different version of the first scene with Cotton. In one version he trys to escape from his house through a sky light in his roof, but in the final cut there is no sky light in his house but some of the footage is used so his flat goes from having no sky light to having a sky light and back again. There is also an alternative ebding which is basically the same as the old one.

e Deleted scenes and Alternative ending. It laso has some funny Out takes, behind the scenes from all three movies, TV Spots and trailers, Music videos and cast and crew bios.

Miramax has now bought www.scream4.com all the way to scream 9 and in an email from Wes Cravens Offical site (www.wescraven.com) that has been going around they asked him to direct number 4 but he declined.

Maybe thats way none of Randys trilogy rules came true!!

In the audio commentary Wes Craven mentions that in the final scene at the house David Arquette just stood and looked into the camera and said "Look Bob (Weinstein) lets just have the killer burst in here and murder everyone to finish it off" - How I wish theyed listened.
