Gordon, a postman, is horrified when he is suddenly landed with babysitting his beautiful neighbour's young son, James. Forced to take him to work one day, he is alarmed when a dog appears in the back of his van. James, however, quickly becomes devoted to the dog, that they name Spot, and soon persuades Gordon to keep him. The problem is, Spot is really Agent 11, an FBI dog who has recently bitten the beejeezus out of a major criminal and the criminal wants Agent 11 eliminated. Will Agent 11/Spot manage to survive his assassination attempts? And will Gordon manage to keep James safe until his mother returns home? I have to admit from the outset that this is ... Aimed squarely at an audience of families with younger children, See Spot Run does not waste much effort on subtleties. The comedy is a mix of basic slapstick and potty humour, while the plot spins a sugary romance around a perky blonde, an orphaned postman, a cute kid and a lovable mutt - with the latter enjoying the most fully-developed characterisation. The dog even gets a supporting cast of rascally - but still lovable - canines. As calculated as it is, though, it is still fairly watchable. The film took a good $10m-plus over its opening weekend and, even if the box office does drop off quickly, it is likely to set up what seems to have been a ... Read the complete review

Spot - not your average family pet, could be because he is escaped FBI Agent 11, on the run from the Mafia. See sounds silly already? Gordon played by David Arquette,in a role that would have seen Jim Carrey 10 years ago, a somewhat laddish US Mailman, has designs on Stephanie (Leslie Bibb), his neighbour, Mother of James (Angus T Jones)a cute 6 year old. The first 30 minutes introduces the characters in some detail, with Spot getting all of 5 minutes in the frame, with his partner Agent Murdoch (Michael Clarke Duncan), it does at first seem a bit disjointed, but the build up is required. Gordon's daily routine includes an ongoing battle ... Read the complete review

With a title like ‘See Spot Run’ I had anticipated a good old fashioned animation featuring the happy little yellow and brown dog whose adventures I’d read aloud over and over again a few years ago. I was surprised that the kids who’d grown up with Spot now wanted to see the movie as I thought it would be too ‘babyish’ for them. I was wrong, this is a whole other Spot. This film is more like a combination of Big Daddy, K-9, Turner and Hooch and Home Alone, so it fits pretty well with the 7 through 11 age group, who enjoy PG movies, but perhaps need an adult around to explain the issues raised by a 12 or 15 certificate. ... See Spot run I knew that See Spot run was a family/kiddies film, but I had a free entry to my local Cinema, and had seen everything else currently on offer, so I reluctantly went to check this out. Rated as a PG, you can imagine the kind of juvenile humour and light-hearted jokes that the film involves The film stars a Dog (obviously by the name of Spot) acting as a top FBI agent (this is a family movie remember!), who is constantly getting one over on the mafia (don?t worry, there are no strong references to sex, drugs or terrorism though) and the mob then decide they wil track spot down and get rid of what is becoming and increasingly difficult ...
