Advantages: Good for the family, juvenile fun
Disadvantages: I'm too old! :(
See Spot run I knew that See Spot run was a family/kiddies film, but I had a free entry to my local Cinema, and had seen everything else currently on offer, so I reluctantly went to check this out. Rated as a PG, you can imagine the kind of juvenile humour and light-hearted jokes that the film involves The film stars a Dog (obviously by the name of Spot) acting as a top FBI agent (this is a family movie remember!), who is constantly getting one over on the mafia (don?t worry, there are no strong references to sex, drugs or terrorism though) and the mob then decide they wil track spot down and get rid of what is becoming and increasingly difficult problem?yes, a dog! In the background of all this action is a postman who (like all postmen really) hates dogs. Hios name is Gordon, and is landed with Spot when the animal escapes from the clutches of the Mafia and hides in Gordon?s post van, who now not only has to look after the dog (which he initially despises) and also the child of his girlfriend who he is lumbered with while she is away on a business trip! Cue a host of funny and not so funny scenes involving a disorganised and resentful postman put through his paces by child and dog, while the big mafia bosses add to the mayhem. If I were a child/young teen then I would no doubt find this very funny, and I have to admit to laughing a few times throughout the film, but this just wasn?t for me. I admit I am by no means the target audience for this film, and thus my scoring will reflect this (a personal opinion of the film would see it get one or two stars, but this would be unfair), so if your looking for a family night out at your local UCI, then this is as goos as any to go for ? THREE STARS!
