I rarely come across a film that I instantly fall in love with and most of my friends would, on the sly, tell you that I’m impossible to please when it comes to films. This 2001 rom-com stars competent leading man John Cusack and Kate Beckinsdale as his object of affection. They play Jonathan and Sara who meet in New York at a clothes sale. Attracted to one another they spend a wonderful evening together. Well, it seems my film reviews are just like buses – none for ages, then two come along at once. You see, when we did the old video-hiring thing for my birthday celebrations, we decided to rent out two. Gosford Park was the one we both fancied seeing, Serendipity was my choice. Hubby was very non-committal about watching this one, it being a ‘RomCom’ (romantic comedy) and all. In fact, he suggested I watch it with the kids today while he was at work.
