... and Carrie and Big are flat-hunting. I want to do my best not to divulge any major story points, but some may be inevitable, and for that I apologise. The girls as we see them now are a world away from how they were at the start of the TV series. This is ten years on, and now they are settled in grown up relationships and not chasing men all over Manhattan. Someone once observed to me that Carrie settling down with Big went against everything the show had stood for - single women having fun and not needing a man. But I...more

No one can have avoided all the hype around the new Sex and the City movie, I've been hearing and reading about it for weeks. Having been an avid fan of the TV series which left our screens four years ago I couldn't wait to see it when it was released in the UK to catch up with all the drama and gossip of the four girls. My friend was so eager to see it she actually purchased our tickets last week so we could avoid the huge queues that were bound to be in place on the opening night... The Background For any of you who haven't ever seen the show I'll give you a short synopsis to help you understand my review better... The show centred around the life ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Sex and the City: The Movie (DVD): SATC - Snoozing And the City (920 words)

As you may have noticed, this is a review of Sex and the City: The Movie. Oh god, another one I hear you cry. But wait, this is a review of Sex And The City (SATC) with a difference - it's written by a guy! For anyone that's been living on Mars for the last few months, SATC: The Movie is the big screen adaptation of the HBO comedy series that ran for 6 series and ended in 2004. Now it took me a while to get into SATC on television - I thought it was only for girls, and watching it for the first few times confirmed my feelings. However my partner loved the series, so it was never off our TV, and so it was inflicted upon me. Slowly I started to come ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Going Out...BIG Style! (1291 words)
by - written on 11/06/08 (Very useful, 192 readings)

I was a bit young to watch Sex and The City when it was first aired on our television screens. However, I caught up a few years ago when Paramount Comedy showed the whole lot every evening for a few months and I instantly fell in love with it. My other half bought me the boxset for Christmas a year ago, and when I heard they were making a movie, I knew that I had to go and see it at the cinema. I nagged him for ages to take me and he kept saying no. But he surprised me at the weekend saying he was taking me for my birthday treat (happy birthday to me for yesterday!) and so Monday night, I finally got to watch the film! Sex and the City: The Movie picks up ...  Read the complete review

Did you know that the average adult males bladder can hold around 600-800cm3 of urine? The urge to go pee usually kicks in at about 150-300cm3 capacity. Did you know that a large drink from Odeon Cinemas consists of (I'm guessing here) about 750cm3? No? Well, now you have something to think about. And I suggest you think hard! ---0cm3--- An hour before the film, me being me, called my friend to ask how dressy she was going to be at the cinema. She, being her, replied "er...I've got jeans and a t-shirt, I've dripped pasta on it and might not change it. It's the bloody cinema!" She made sense. It's going to be dark!! No one will ...  Read the complete review
