Disadvantages: FOCUSED TOO MUCH ON CARRIE

The long running television series Sex and the City makes it's first appearence on the movie screen with Michael Patrick King directing.

The film focuses on Sarah Jessica Parker's character Carrie's upcoming wedding to her long time on off boyfriend Big. With her friends joining her on the build up to her big day Samantha played by Kim Cattrall, Charlotte played by Kristin Davis and Miranda played by Cynthia Nixon all sorts of mayhem occurs on he build up to the big day. Carrie's friends experience their own problems involving their careers, motherhood and relationships. With the big day approaching the question is whether Carrie can go through with the wedding and her friends can resolve their own personal issues.

The heavy involvement of Sarah Jessica Parker's character means some Sex and the City fans may be dissapointed that the other characters are peripheral. This is particular the case with Kim Cattrall who I think is the scene stealer.

As usual the outfits are weird and wonderful and the settings are beautiful. The film sticks to the premise that women are independant and can make their own decisions which will appeal to women.

Their is a lot of moderate sex and the sexual innuendo is constant, but usually amusing. The language is also filthy, but again in an amusing way.

With an array of DVD extras include a commentary by the director there is lots to keep you occupied.

Sex and the City is definantly one for the Ladies, but maybe not the men.

Summary: One for the Ladies!
