What young Charlie doesn't realize is that her uncle is not who she thinks he is, he's running from trouble.
After being questioned by detectives young Charlie does some investigating and discovers her uncle's horrible secret. However, she refuses to tell her family for fear that it will destroy her mother. Plus, still loving her uncle, she allows him to leave before telling the detectives what she knows.
However, uncle Charlie fears that young Charlie knows too much and he decides to get rid of her.

You can choose your friends, but not your family. It's bad enough with you immediate family always wanting to know how you are and what you have been up to.
